The National Informatics Center (IMC) has launched an indigenous version of WhatsApp 'Sands' in India. It is an instant messaging app. Let us tell you that currently the state and central officials use 'Government Instant Messaging System (GIMS)'. But now they will use the Sands app. If you are worried about the privacy policy of WhatsApp then now your worry will be over. Along with government offerings, other citizens of India will be able to use the Sands app. So let us tell you how you can download the Sands app and sign-up in this app.

Download Sandes App Official

The Sands app is available for both iOS and Android users. The phone must have Android version 5.0 or above for this app. The iPhone must have iOS 12 or above. Users can download the APK file of this app through the official GIMS portal, the official website of the government. This app is not currently available in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
After downloading, users simply have to sign-up with their mobile number or email ID. After this you will get six-digit OTP. Next, you will need to provide a gender description. After this the sign-up process will be completed. The best part of this app is that foreign apps will not steal your privacy and data. The app has been developed by NIC (National Informatics Center), which is part of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)
