If you use a two-wheeler or four-wheeler, it is important to keep documents like driving license and RC, especially in India. The Department of Transport under the Government of India has now released an Official app called mParivahan, which can be used to generate Virtual DL and Virtual RC.
How to download virtual driving license using MParivahan app?
If the traffic police stop you to verify the authenticity of your vehicle and your driving ability, you can show these virtual DLs, especially if you are not carrying a photocopy or original DL. Let's learn how to generate a virtual DL on the mParivahan app on your Android and iOS smartphones.
FYI, to download a virtual driving license, you must have the complete driving license number with the date of birth mentioned on the driving license, and without any of this information, you will not be able to download your virtual driving license from the mParivahan app.

Follow the steps given below
- Download mParivahan App using Google Play Store
- If you already have an account or sign up, open the app and sign in.
- Select DL at the top right corner
- Enter your dl number
- To create a virtual DL, click on "Add To My Dashboard"
- Complete verification by entering your date of birth
- Go back now
- Go to Dashboard and choose DL Dashboard
- Now you will be able to access your virtual DL on mParivahan app
- You can also download the 3D barcode, which the police can scan to see the current invoice in your account.
- Virtual DL on MParivahan app shows all the details like your date of birth, expiry date, vehicle category and RTC code.
A digitally signed document is valid according to the IT Act 2000 when used electronically. If you ever forget to carry your ID card, just show the virtual document, which is now valid and legal across India.
